Students explore the aisles of their community D&W Fresh Market where they learn the importance of a balanced meal, portion size, and more while making real-world food choices right in aisles. This interactive learning experience engages students and teaches them to make informed healthy food choices using the MyPlate guidelines. Exploration and discussion include a special behind-the-scenes look of the supermarket in action!

 

Introducing nutritious foods at a young age leads to healthier eating patterns throughout life. Our Kids Crew helps make healthy foods fun! We have a character for each section of the MyPlate to teach us about the food groups and how they help us to grow up strong and healthy.

Code of Conduct:

• Please let FTF know if you cannot make the scheduled day/time.

• Always let us know if your group size is changing and include siblings under the age of 4 in your Group Information.

• Please make sure that you have at least 1 adult chaperone for every 8 students in your group AND that chaperones are ready to help the field trip leader, if needed.

• Please call FTF with special requests - Do NOT add them in notes where they may go unseen by the store contact.

• Please arrange transportation to avoid last minute conflicts and cancellations.

• Meet at the Customer Service Desk to start your field trip. All field trips are approximately ~ 60 minutes in length.
